A number of coral collections are reported on here. I would like to have more material from 1801, 1473 and 1511 as these are particularly interesting. I note indications that not all of the corals in some collections were sent. This is objectionable as it makes it more difficult to answer some kinds of questions. Any time that I am asked to give the age of a collection I am entitled to have all pertinent information and material. |

Comment: | Late Devonian (Frasnian). If this is one assemblage, it is Frasnian in age. I note, however, (Tchudinova et al., 1974, Jour. Pal. 48 (1) 126-7), that the collection came from some 50 feet of section. If so some of these elements may be Middle Devonian. These would include the possible PARACANTHUS sp. a and b; the possible TABULOPHYLLUM could be Middle or Late Devonian. Were are the *PACHYPHYLLUM* and *CRASSALVEOLITES* that you list from the same collection? If correctly identified the first is another Frasnian form. PLEASE SEND THESE TO ME AT YOUR EARLY CONVENIENCE. |
